How to potty train your puppy fast in 5 easy steps
You decided that your family needs a new member so you bought the most adorable puppy. However, how to train your puppy can be one of the most challenging tasks for a puppy owner. I will guide you in this task of how to potty train your puppy fast with my step by step instructions. Firstly you need to remember that you need to be gentle and patient with your furry friend as he will eventually learn.
One of the easiest ways on how to potty train your puppy fast is to follow these 5 easy steps:
Step One – Create a small area inside your house where you can place a nice comfy bed, water, food and some nice toys to keep puppy busy. Make sure it is secure so he can’t get out; a dog crate is normally the best for this.
Step Two – Choose a spot outside the house where you would like him to go potty, maybe towards the back of the yard.
Step Three – Make sure your puppy stays in the crate as much as possible. Do not let him wander off wherever and whenever he feels. Puppy’s will never mess in their sleep and play area unless they are desperate. Initially you should take him or her out every hour or so and straight to the designated potty area outside. On the second day you should only take your puppy out when he cries or whines but when he cries take him directly outside and back to his cage.
Step Four – Once he is at the potty area (after you ran outside carrying him so that he doesn’t pee in your handJ) you may need to stay with him a min or two. In most cases he should pee almost immediately. After he completes his business give him a treat and walk back with him so he learns where to go to potty. Always reward good behaviour with treats and let him play a bit before putting him back in the cage.
Fifth and final steps (Yay) – At night try not to feed him too late. He will go potty immediately after eating and again in an hour, so for the first few nights you would have to get up at least once during the night to take him outside to do his business, but after this he should be fine all night.
On the third day you can leave him out of the cage when you are at home and he will cry when he needs to go outside, if he does mess inside scold him and send him back in the cage.
That’s all that there is to know on how to train your puppy. Just a few days of work and your best friend will be the most well trained puppy in neighbourhood.
